Artist- Clarke Blair

Why hang a mobile? Because nature abhors a vacuum, and I feel the same way about empty high-ceiling spaces in modern homes or buildings. These spaces cry out for a Clarke Blair mobile - a piece of art that is unique, colorful, custom made, three dimensional, defines the space, grabs your eye and demands to be looked at right now! Is there a better way to make an artistic statement? I'm here to help you make it.

Why do people like mobiles so much? First, they're three dimensional and define a form in empty space. Second, they change shape depending on your perspective. Third, they can be mounted on swivels to move as a result of wind or interior air movement, which will never happen with a painting. And fourth, the precision work required to achieve the delicate balancing causes people to look at a mobile and say, "How did he do that?"

All of my mobiles are finished using the powder coating process, which fuses fabulous colors directly to the metal, creating perfectly smooth surfaces and making them impervious to rust or corrosion. Some spaces may allow movement, others will require a static mounting. Except in the rarest cases, the existing framing or ceiling structure will support these mobiles, which weigh from 8 lbs (Bluebird) to 80 lbs (Sun on the Wing.) I will assist with all installations, either supplying the necessary hardware and directions, or doing it myself.

I look forward to working with you to design and install beautiful art in those empty spaces, whether interior or exterior.
